Stream this album at NPR (linked above) and you'll hear the synthy, jazzy, surf-rock tones of this Scottish band on their debut album. It sounds like what so much '80s music would have sounded like with better technology and strong vocals. Mix this with Janelle Monáe, Moon Hooch, Tame Impala, the new Amanda Palmer album, Sxip Shirey, and Azealia Banks and you've got the sounds of the present filtered through the tunes of the past and reaching towards the future. So great.
